Systems Application Analyst 1 – Newport News Shipbuilding

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is the U.S. Navy's largest industrial employer. This full-time role requires a U.S. citizen with a Secret clearance and a final security clearance. The position is 1st shift and offers occasional hybrid telework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain client device images across the enterprise.
  • Manage image lifecycle, including updates, patching, version control, and automation using MDT, SCCM, or Intune.
  • Implement enterprise policies, DoD security baselines, STIGs, CS Benchmarks, and other required configurations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors on driver, application, security configuration integration.
  • Participate in hardware review, refreshes, rollout strategies, and planning.
  • Complete support and request tickets for client services groups.
  • Prepare and maintain operational documentation.
  • Provide rotational on-call support and work outside normal business hours when required.

Must Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent professional certification.
  • 0 years of exempt experience; military experience (E-5 or above) qualifies.
  • Final security clearance required; Secret level clearance.
  • Nice to Have Experience

  • Designing, building, and maintaining Windows OS images using MDT, SCCM / MEM, or Intune.
  • Packaging and testing applications for deployment.
  • BIOS / UEFI configuration and driver injection.
  • Enterprise networking, domain join processes, Group Policy, and Active Directory.
  • Windows PowerShell, Windows Batch scripting for automation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
