Overview

A growing law firm, recognized among the top "Best Companies to Work For - Law Firms," is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its General Liability group. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience under highly experienced partners, working on a variety of insurance defense matters including personal injury, construction injuries, and slip & fall cases. The firm values team players who are eager to learn and expand their practice. This position is open due to growth and offers a hybrid schedule with competitive compensation.

Base pay range

$100,000.00 / yr - $150,000.00 / yr

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of a litigation case, from initial filing to resolution.
  • Conduct depositions, motion practice, oral arguments, court conferences, mediations, and trial preparation.
  • Advocate for clients in insurance defense matters, delivering strategic representation across a broad spectrum of claims.
  • Maintain consistent and proactive communication with clients and co-counsel, providing updates, legal insights, and strategic guidance.

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in New York.
  • 2+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation, preferably with exposure to general liability matters.
  • Demonstrated trial practice experience, including defending depositions, drafting motions, and trial preparation.
  • Strong academic record (minimum 3.0 GPA) and exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eager to learn, grow professionally, and contribute as a collaborative team member.
