Field Engineer, Kiewit Water Facilities South
We are looking for a Field Engineer to lead health and safety, ensure quality reporting and workmanship, and guarantee all engineering work is professional and ethical. Your main functions include contract administration, project planning and scheduling, and project reporting, while advising Project Management on contractual, legal, and project issues.

Kiewit Water Facilities South specializes in constructing water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment facilities, and desalination plants across North America. Our team receives continuous training, hands-on experience, and challenging responsibilities from day one.
Location
Westlake, TX. The position may also be assigned to other project locations as needed.
Responsibilities
- Lead processes and reviews of interpretations of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
- Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages.
- Supervise field surveying and work layout support, including elevation, control points, and compilation of as-built data.
- Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets.
- Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite.
- Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and other contract documents.
- Supervise engineers to gather and prepare data for submittals or transmittals to customers, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use.
- Prepare purchase orders and subcontracts, performing minor solicitations and purchasing as requested.
- Maintain schedules and updates.
- Maintain basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions, including daily reports, photographs, RFIs, and memorandums.
- Report data into the job cost system and review cost reports with jobsite management.
- Generate change orders and as-built data for review by the Project Manager.
- Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.3+ years of construction field / office engineering experience supporting field operations.Experience on infrastructure projects such as roads, dams, water / wastewater treatment plants.Experience leading engineers.Strong ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.Ability to access a construction site in a variety of climates and environments.Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and initiative.Strong work ethic and willingness to get the job done right the first time.Commitment to ethics and integrity.Passion for safety and ensuring no one gets hurt.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Team player who can work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.Other Requirements
