Project Accountant / Billing Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant / Billing Specialist to join our dynamic architecture firm in Birmingham, AL. This contract-to-hire position plays a critical role in ensuring the financial accuracy and efficiency of our projects, with a focus on invoicing, accounts receivable management, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and submit accurate invoices to clients, ensuring all billing aligns with contract terms and project requirements.
  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable, proactively following up on overdue payments and resolving any billing discrepancies.
  • Address and resolve client and subconsultant inquiries and issues promptly and effectively.
  • Handle high-volume, complex billing procedures, including both mail and electronic invoicing.
  • Communicate directly with clients and subconsultants regarding billing concerns, requirements, and necessary documentation.

Qualifications :

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Accountant or Billing Specialist, preferably within the architecture, engineering, construction, or related industries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational abilities, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with project teams and clients.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of working independently and as a contributing member of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
