Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness. Strong telephone communication skills and ability to remain accurate under pressure. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 clearance. Competitive pay : $28–35 / hour (rare-language premium). Remote work through secure USCIS-approved systems. Paid training and professional development. Consistent workload under a federal contract. Career advancement opportunities in linguist leadership or quality assurance. Resume / CV highlighting Kinyarwanda interpreting experience. Any certifications (court, community, ATA, or other credentials preferred). Availability for full-time or contractor assignments.

We are seeking Kinyarwanda Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Kinyarwanda is a critical rare language often required for asylum, refugee, and immigration cases.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time Kinyarwanda English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
- Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in legal and immigration contexts.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in line with USCIS / DHS compliance standards.
- Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent / surge requests.
- Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and QA audits.
