Journeyman HVAC Installer – Residential

Position Overview :

We’re hiring a Journeyman HVAC Installer to oversee and execute the installation of residential heating and cooling systems throughout Connecticut . This role requires technical expertise, strong leadership, and a valid S-1 or S-2 license . You’ll be responsible for ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and up to code, all while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead residential HVAC system installations from start to finish, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless systems, and more
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and job requirements
  • Supervise and mentor installation apprentices or helpers on job sites
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, manufacturer specifications, and safety regulations
  • Coordinate with office and warehouse teams for equipment, materials, and scheduling
  • Maintain accurate job documentation and communicate progress with homeowners and supervisors
  • Represent Yost & Campbell with professionalism and a customer-first mindset

Requirements :

  • Valid S-1 or S-2 license (Connecticut HVAC License)
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification
  • 5+ years of HVAC installation experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead role
  • Strong knowledge of residential systems, including ducted and ductless technologies
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in crawlspaces, attics, and on ladders

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working with high-efficiency, ductless, and zone systems
