Overview
A Technician is responsible for the set up and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.
Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation : Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
- Customer Service : Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers; maintain a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication; meet with guests on site to ensure that their needs are met and the equipment setup is working properly; monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day; understand and foster the hotel / client relationship.
- Technical Ability : Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues; handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Systems Knowledge : Understand company processes, follow procedures, complete systems entry and paperwork accurately; use equipment sheets to determine equipment scheduled for set up and strike; interact with other staff and outside vendors for equipment; increase revenue by utilizing floor up-selling techniques; work with clients to finalize invoices; complete order entries in Navigator as needed.
Job Qualifications
High School Diploma required. Hotel : Work is performed in a hotel / convention center environment with exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand or dust. The working conditions vary from moderately quiet to noisy. Team members use high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components and may be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. May work in multiple hotel locations with irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Appearance guidelines apply as defined by Encore per hotel location.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay Range : $16.60 - $20.33. Final compensation is based on qualifications, location, travel, experience, or skills. Some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses or incentives.
