Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manage the engineering design and review of HV substation, transmission line, and related infrastructure.
- Manage all resources internally or externally as necessary to prepare and or review preliminary designs, performance estimates, cost, estimates, schedules, permitting documents, site diligence documents, acquisition
diligence documents, interconnection agreements, and risks to support EPC related projects.
Interface with clients, utilities, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with technical standards, and project objectives.Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including specifications, schematics, reports, and test plans.Support procurement of HV equipment and oversee factory acceptance testing.Represent Strata Solar in meetings, project developers, suppliers, consultants, utilities and regulatory authorities.Conduct technical evaluations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for proposed HV systems.Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards (IEEE, IEC, NESC), and safety regulations.Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and energization of HV equipment and systems.Technical support and management of internal business development programs and initiatives.Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :
B.S. degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering, or related subject – M.S. degree and / or P.E. desirable.5+ years of solar industry experience, including 2+ years or direct EPC and HV Substation experience managing detailed design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.Understanding of HV and Substation project design and optimization of best industry practices as it relates to transmission and HV related scopes, equipment suppliers, contractors, typical technical specifications, and costs.Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD), system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSCAD, PSS / E).Understanding of solar energy estimates, losses, assumptions, and standards.Experience with review and negotiation of engineering, procurement, and construction contracts and technical exhibits for solar facilities.Experience managing consultants and contractors.Working knowledge of relevant US and IEC equipment standards, codes and construction practices.Detail-oriented and self-motivated with ability to perform in a dynamic and collaborative working environment.Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%Proven ability to organize and prioritize work, manage relationship with clients, colleagues, consultants and contractors.Excellent written and verbal communications, mathematical competence, creative design and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, Google Earth, and common data room services-PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCad, and scheduling software proficiency desirable.Physical Requirements / Work Environment : Work is performed in an office environment and in the field. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift up to 20
