The Logistics Coordinator / LTL Specialist coordinates Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipments while ensuring cost-effective and timely transportation solutions. This role involves working with carriers, providing exceptional customer service, and managing freight logistics efficiently.
Key Responsibilities :
- Customer Service : Provide prompt and professional support to customers regarding LTL shipments, resolving issues effectively.
- Rate Quotes & Shopping Rates : Obtain competitive freight rates by comparing carrier pricing and service levels.
- LTL Carrier Coordination : Establish and maintain strong working relationships with LTL carriers to optimize service and costs.
- Freight Scheduling : Plan, schedule, and dispatch shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Tracking & Tracing Freight : Monitor shipments, provide updates to customers, and address any transit issues proactively.
- Filing Claims : Process and track freight claims, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.
- Data Entry : Maintain accurate shipment details, carrier information, and customer records in company systems.
- Customer Relationship Management : Develop and nurture relationships with existing customers to foster repeat business.
- Cold Calling New Customers : Conduct outbound calls to generate new business opportunities and expand customer base.
- All Other Duties as Assigned : Support additional logistics functions as needed to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills :
Experience in LTL logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation management.Strong understanding of LTL pricing, freight classifications, and carrier networks.Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in logistics software and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and data entry skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).Education & Experience :
High school diploma or GED required; a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.Minimum 2 years of experience in LTL freight management or a similar role is a plus.Why Join Us?
