Overview of the role
The Houseman is responsible for ensuring cleanliness and order in all public areas, assisting Room Attendants with the removal of linen and trash, and responding to guest requests in a timely manner. By supporting the overall housekeeping operations at the Epicurean Hotel, the Houseman plays a crucial role in maintaining a pleasant and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
What you have
- High School diploma or higher
- Previous hospitality experience preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to use technology (e.g., tablets, iPads)
What you'll do
Ensure all public spaces, including lobbies, corridors, and restrooms, are cleaned and well-maintained at all times. Perform regular cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and trash removal.Support housekeeping staff by collecting and transporting used linens, replenishing supplies, and removing trash from guest rooms and service areas.Ensure that housekeeping carts are stocked with the necessary supplies and materials and that storage closets are kept organized and clean.Respond promptly to guest requests, such as delivering extra towels, pillows, or toiletries, ensuring excellent customer service.Assist with setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, and equipment for hotel events and functions.Operate and maintain housekeeping equipment, such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carts, ensuring they are in good working condition.Report Maintenance Issues : Identify and report any maintenance issues in guest rooms or public areas to the appropriate department for repair.Safety and Security : Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including the proper handling of chemicals and ensuring all public areas are free of hazards.Assist Housekeepers with making beds and strip rooms in preparation for cleaning.Clean inside elevators and polish elevator tracks and landings.Keep stairwells and ice machine areas free from debris.Assist with maintenance and stocking of the minibar selectionsPerform other necessary duties as reasonably assignedMust have reliable transportation.Must have open schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Physical Demand
