Robert Half is partnering with a nonprofit educational organization in the Cedar Valley in their pursuit to hire a Business / Accounting leader to oversee financial operations and accounting activities. This role involves managing a team of accounting professionals, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in general accounting and a strong understanding of accrual accounting principles.

Responsibilities :

  • Supervise and lead the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of accounting entries to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Manage month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial statements.
  • Implement and oversee fund accounting practices tailored to the needs of a non-profit organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and organizational policies.
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain budgets, monitoring expenditures to align with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with leadership to plan and execute financial strategies that support the organization's mission.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
  • Proven experience in accounting or financial management within a non-profit organization.
  • Strong knowledge of accrual accounting principles and fund accounting practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing accounting entries and financial statements.
  • Experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
