Job Description Our client is hiring a highly skilled and experienced Consulting Engineer to join our team in Washington, D.C. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to work with advanced technologies in Routing / Switching and Data Center environments. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of enterprise networking, demonstrate leadership in critical delivery engagements, and have a proven track record of operational excellence. This role requires a commitment to innovation, the ability to operate in ambiguous circumstances, and a customer-focused mindset. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in transforming our customers' networks to achieve their mission-critical public service goals. Responsibilities Assess customer requirements, develop service delivery methods, and manage the engineering team to ensure operational excellence. Act as a technical leader and trusted advisor, providing expert guidance to resolve complex customer problems and operational issues. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to innovate and provide compelling technology solutions that drive business value for customers. Contribute to customer problem resolution, innovation, engineering engagement, intellectual capital, and talent development. Interact effectively with Engineering and other departments to solve complex problems and identify serviceability issues. Drive resolution of major customer problems across a range of technologies, ensuring proper and quick resolution. Continuously learn and strengthen technical skills in relevant domains and adjacent technologies. Advocate for the customer's best interest and promote the benefits of our solutions and services. Qualifications BS in Computer Science or equivalent, plus 8 – 10 years relevant experience in Enterprise Networking. Deep understanding of key technologies and protocols in Enterprise Networking and data center environments. In-depth knowledge of designing and optimizing complex network solutions. Technical expertise in more than one area, with the ability to apply product behavior across industry standards. Expertise with Cisco software features and functionality preferred. Strong operational and consultancy experience with excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to function effectively in ambiguous circumstances. Certification like CCIE R / S or Data Center is preferred. Programming skills in Ansible, Python, AI / ML is a plus.
