Animal Control Officer

The City of Friendswood is currently accepting applications for an Animal Control Officer in the Police Department. This position performs various duties associated with enforcement of regulations pertaining to animals, within the city limits, including : responding to complaints, preparing reports, issuing citations, testifying in court and maintaining the Animal Control shelter in accordance with state and city regulations.

Education and Experience :

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of experience in Animal Control or other animal related experience
• Basic Certified Animal Control Proficiency from the Texas Animal Control Association and Euthanasia certification or ability to obtain within one year of employment

Working Conditions :

Requires a valid Texas driver's license (Class C), pass a physical exam, psychological evaluation, drug screen and a criminal background check. Work is mainly outdoors in all types of weather.

Lateral Animal Control Officers receive 1 : 1 pay for experience

This position requires 24-hour availability
