American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a PACU RN with at least one year of experience and active IL licensure for an acute care assignment utilizing the Epic EMR system.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a busy PACU environment within Pre / Post Op and Phase II recovery units
  • 60 beds between Preop and Phase II cubicles, serving both adult and pediatric populations
  • Patient population includes ortho, urology, gynecology, general, breast, bariatric, ENT, dental, GI, open heart, neuro, cardiac cath, electrophysiology, and pediatric cases
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 1 once the patient is prepped for surgery
  • Shifts are 10-hour daytime with varying start times (examples : 11 : 00-19 : 30, 09 : 00-17 : 30), and schedule includes one weeknight call until 11PM
  • Floating required within Preop and Phase II units
  • Equipment includes Epic including Optime and Radiant modules
  • Hospital-provided scrubs
  • Responsible for preoperative patient care, monitoring recovery, and managing immediate post-anesthesia needs
  • Support available from charge nurses and nurse aides during each shift
  • Orientation includes 1-2 days of unit-specific training
  • Must respond within 1 hour when on call
  • No weekend or holiday shifts currently required
  • No COVID vaccine required for this assignment
  • Local candidates with permanent addresses within 50 miles are eligible to apply with local rates
  • Drug-free campus policy enforced; negative drug screen required

  • Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PACU or relevant acute care RN experience
  • Documented Epic EMR experience required; experience with Optime / Radiant preferred
  • Cardiac experience preferred
