Description :

Department seeks a skilled Ultrasound Technician.

Required certifications include BLS and RDMS.

Preferred certifications are RDMS(OB / GYN), RDMS(AB), RVT.

Must hold a state license.

No clinical involvement is expected in this role.

Department currently has one echo room and one general ultrasound room, with plans for expansion.

The Echo dedicated sonographer performs all echo exams.

May be required to assist with ultrasound in the OR for specific cases.

Will not float to any other departments but may help transfer patients in other modalities as needed.

Common imaging studies performed include OB limited, OB 2nd and 3rd trimester, OB follow-up, and more.

Routine duties involve cleaning rooms, machines, and stocking supplies.

The technician will check for outdated equipment and ensure a safe environment.

The average number of scans / studies per day ranges from 6 to 8, with options for add-ons.

Department uses software including McKesson, CRTIS, and Meditech.

Available equipment includes Philips Epiq 5 and Epiq Elite, with a backup Mindray.

There is no radiology supervisor on each shift, but a nursing supervisor is always available.

Teleradiology services are available 24 hours a day.

No IV starts are required.

Schedule typically includes Monday through Friday from 0730 to 1600, with occasional call requirements.

Self-scheduling may be allowed.

Occasional weekend call is required when necessary.

Holiday scheduling is flexible, allowing the technician to choose whether to work.

Call response time is expected within 20 minutes.

Scrubs are gray and are not provided.

Unit-specific orientation is available for one week, lasting longer if needed.

This position has limited on-call requirements.

Role focuses on outpatient scheduling and add-on ultrasounds.

Flexibility in adjusting patient schedules is encouraged.

Candidates may not have held any full-time, part-time, or PRN positions with affiliated facilities within the past 12 months.

Time-off requests must be provided upfront.

Additional time-off requests will not be approved after the initial submission.

Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled per 13-week assignment.

Charting system used is Meditech.

BSN is not required.
