About the Role
Total Rehab Kids is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing therapy team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to help patients improve their daily living skills, functional independence, and overall quality of life.
This is a hands-on clinical position where you’ll implement treatment plans, guide therapeutic activities, and support patients in regaining independence. You’ll play a key role in motivating patients, documenting progress, and collaborating with families and the care team to ensure the best outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Active state licensure (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Texas.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in an outpatient, pediatric, or rehabilitation setting.
Bilingual (English / Spanish) skills for effective communication with diverse patient populations.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans.
Lead therapeutic activities and exercises to improve physical, sensory, and cognitive function.
Monitor and document patient progress, reporting updates to the supervising OT.
Educate and support patients and families on therapeutic strategies to promote independence at home.
Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive therapy environment.
