General Ledger Accountant

Systems Planning and Analysis is searching for a dynamic team member, to serve as a General Ledger Accountant for the accounting team under the finance organization. The Company is experiencing a high rate of growth and needs a strong accounting professional to contribute meaningfully to the department and the company. This role requires excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and government contracting experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Accounting Manager & Director of Accounting in the monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger close and ensure all activities are completed timely and accurately
- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager & Director of Accounting to maintain the company accounts and sub ledgers by ensuring the correct and accurate accounting classification of all entries in accordance with GAAP, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Financial Audit Regulation (FAR)
- Assist the Accounting Manager & Director of Accounting in the monthly journal entries and reconciliation process of all respective general ledger accounts by preparing accounting reconciliations and resolving variances timely
- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager & Director of Accounting on the annual financial statement audit and other critical audits as necessary by ensuring all audit requests are provided timely and accurately
- Prepare journal entries, rollforward schedules, and related documentation for items such as fixed assets, prepaids, intangibles, debt, leases etc.
- Assist with the completion of the annual Incurred Cost Submission as needed
- Perform account research and ad-hoc accounting / reporting / administrative tasks
- Assist in the maintenance and improvement of Deltek Costpoint functions as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
