Job Summary :
The Merchandise Concession Manager is responsible for overseeing all merchandise operations for Dazzling Nights®, including inventory control, tent management, staff supervision, and customer engagement. This role is critical in tracking and reconciling merchandise inventory before, during, and after the event. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable leading a team in a fast-paced event environment.
Key Responsibilities : Pre-Show Setup (November 10–20) :
Receive, count, and log all incoming merchandise deliveries.Set up merchandise tent(s), including shelving, signage, and point-of-sale stations.Organize and label back stock and display inventory for operational efficiency.Assist in training staff on product knowledge, inventory handling, and POS procedures.Event Operations (November 24 – January 4) :
Open and close the merchandise tent each night.Conduct daily beginning, mid-shift (as needed), and end-of-night inventory counts.Reconcile nightly sales with physical inventory to identify discrepancies.Maintain visually appealing displays and ensure all items are properly stocked.Lead the merchandise team, ensuring timely breaks, excellent customer service, and adherence to show protocols.Communicate low inventory, guest feedback, and sales trends to the Director of F&B.Post-Show Breakdown (January 6–9) :
Conduct final inventory count and reconcile with sales records.Organize and pack unsold merchandise for return or storage as needed.Break down the merchandise tent setup and clean the assigned area.Submit final inventory report and close-out documentation to the Director of F&B.Qualifications :
Prior experience in retail, concession, or event-based sales is required.Strong inventory and reconciliation skills; detail-oriented and organized.Familiarity with Square POS or similar systems.Positive attitude, team leadership experience, and strong communication skills.Evening and weekend availability is required during show dates.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff, volunteers, and guests.A customer service-driven mindset focused on delivering a positive guest experience.Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented event environment.Proficient in POS systems and basic math for transaction handling and sales reporting.Able to speak, read, and write in English.Physically capable of lifting, loading, and maneuvering concession equipment during setup and breakdown.Ability to complete physically demanding tasks, such as standing and / or walking for long periods.Ability to work outside in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold temperatures).Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow differently-abled individuals to perform the essential functions of the job.Ability to problem-solve and appropriately escalate issues as they are encountered in the fieldRate of Pay : $20.00 per hour. This position typically works a 40-hour work week.
