Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Gastrointestinal / Endoscopy Technician to support physicians and nurses in performing endoscopic procedures. The technician plays a vital role in preparing procedure rooms, maintaining equipment, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the endoscopy process.

Key Responsibilities

  • P repare procedure rooms by setting up endoscopy equipment and supplies according to established protocols.
  • Assist physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures, ensuring proper handling of instruments and patient care.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopy equipment and instruments in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and patient responses during procedures as needed.
  • Maintain accurate logs, procedure documentation, and equipment maintenance records.
  • Ensure timely availability and proper functioning of all endoscopy-related tools and instruments.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients undergoing procedures.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, safety procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Endoscopy Technician or Surgical Technician training program
  • At least 1 year of experience in an endoscopy or surgical setting
  • Knowledge of endoscopic equipment, sterilization techniques, and procedural protocols
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a healthcare-related field
  • Experience with both upper and lower GI procedures
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

    • Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
  • Certified Endoscopy Technician (CET) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (preferred)

    • Education : High School
