The Windows Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows-based systems and infrastructure. The role includes ensuring system security, optimizing performance, providing technical support, and handling support-related issues by leading and guiding the team in issue resolution. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Windows administration, application support, and incident management.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and workstations.
  • Manage Active Directory (AD), Group Policies, and user account administration.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply patches or updates.
  • Ensure system security through antivirus, firewalls, and vulnerability management.
  • Manage backups, disaster recovery, and system restoration procedures.
  • Configure and maintain network services (DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Implement and support virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Support cloud-based Windows environments (Azure, AWS) when applicable.
  • Maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Provide technical support and assist with IT infrastructure projects.
  • Lead and prioritize the application support team's workload.
  • Coordinate and promote effective problem management activities.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes.
  • Create and maintain a knowledge base of known support issues and resolutions.
  • Establish application monitoring mechanisms and performance tuning processes.
  • Handle critical customer escalations and manage technical teams to resolve major incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering processes and standards.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and mentor team members.
  • Ensure escalation matrix is followed for handling L2 and L3 tickets.

Required Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of experience as a Windows Administrator.
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps / Linux Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Middleware Administrator.
  • 3+ years of experience in Environment Management.
  • 2+ years of experience with GB Facets.
  • Experience managing Windows Server (2016 / 2019 / 2022) and Windows 10 / 11.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation.
  • Expertise in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based environments (Azure, AWS) is a plus.
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in distributed teams across time zones.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in the healthcare domain.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Understanding of incident management best practices.
