Summary

We are seeking a Paraprofessional / Experienced Bookkeeper to join our Family Office practice in one of our Southeast Region locations. Our growing practice provides tremendous career opportunities in an environment of the highest ethical standards and professionalism.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Perform bookkeeping services for clients including, but not limited to :

Recording of transactions, bill-paying, accounts payable processing, preparation of payments including wires, ACH payments, and checks

  • Preparation of adjusting journal entries, trial balances, depreciation schedules, monthly / quarterly / annual reconciliations, and fiduciary accountings
  • Administration of payroll processing, which will include calculating wages, federal, state and local taxes as well as benefits
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and generating payroll reports for clients and accounting purposes
  • Maintain tax records to facilitate preparation of tax returns for various individual, family partnerships, LLC's, trusts and charitable entities
  • Assisting the tax professionals in the family office department with intake of client work papers, source documents, and onboarding. This may include organizing tax files, tabulating electronic tax binders, maintaining ongoing tax files, etc.
  • Maintain annual gifting ledgers for clients and assist the department with certain basic gift tax reporting for clients
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Accounting preferred
  • Proficiency using QuickBooks, Bill.com, Hubdoc, and Microsoft Excel
  • Discretion and confidentiality, maintaining privacy regarding sensitive information
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills fostering client relationships
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of accounting work experience
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
