- In-depth understanding of OSHA and state safety regulations, with hands-on experience in manufacturing, equipment, welding, maintenance and building safety

- Staying up to date with regulations, best practices, and safety technologies
- Advising leadership on safety improvements and required changes
- Leading safety meetings across multiple departments
- Building internal scorecards to track and manage safety metrics and KPIs
- Reviewing applicable laws and standards to maintain compliance
- Providing coaching, training, and support to field and shop teams
- Experience with heavy equipment, forklifts, scissor lifts, arial lifts and fall protection
- Ensuring new hires are properly trained and all required training is completed on time

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to walk for prolonged periods of time on uneven surfaces such as railroad track areas, rough surface jobsites, etc.Ability to conduct repetitive motions in an office environment such as sitting, typing, computer use, etc.Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and on and off heavy trucks and equipmentAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and otherwise get around indoor, outdoor, railroad track, and other general work areas and equipmentVision must be sufficient for driving and for conducting safety audits and inspectionsAbility to travel up to 50% via rail, automobile and airplaneENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS :
Exposure to outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, when conducting site visits / audits / training, etcExposure to dust / fumes / mist, grinding particles, smoke, and particulates consistent with welding, grinding, and heavy industrial workMust be able to do shift work and work irregular hours, including weekends as requiredQUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Safety is preferredCSP, ASP or any safety related designation is preferred5 years' experience in a Safety Supervisor or manager role is a manufacturing facility is preferredWell versed in OSHA and State regulationsExperience with ISN, Avetta, and FRA compliance is preferredSuccessful experience in development of OHS Programs and ProceduresProficient in accident investigation fundamentalsProficient in all Microsoft suite of productsMust be able to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland L.P.Disclaimer
