Senior Accountant

Ouellette & Associates, P.A. is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant, to be based in their Lewiston, ME office with hybrid flexibility option. This position is eligible for partner track consideration, offering a clear path to long-term leadership and ownership opportunity.

Requirements of the Senior Accountant :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree in Taxation or related field is a plus
7+ years of experience in public accounting preferred
CPA certification required
Experience with preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, tax compliance, and tax planning
Experience with preparing and reviewing compilations, reviews and audits
Proficiency in managing and coordinating tax engagements and supervising tax staff
Ability to research and implement tax strategies
Excellent communication skills and client relationship management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in tax software, Engagement and Practice Management a plus

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant :

Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns

Lead and participate in the preparation of compilations, reviews, and audits in accordance with professional standards

Supervise and train junior staff, providing feedback and mentorship

Assist with planning and managing engagements to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met

Maintain up to date knowledge of tax laws, accounting standards, and industry developments
