Position : Maintenance Technician B (II)
Transdev in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced B-Level Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain gasoline engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Mechanic, you will contribute to safety, efficiency, and longevity of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issuesPerform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components to ensure optimal functionalityAssist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasksExecute routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performanceLead diagnostic tests to identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategiesPerform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on diesel engines, including overhauls and rebuildsProvide guidance and mentorship to junior techniciansOther duties as requiredQualifications
ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program providedMechanic's Tool SetAbility to work shifts or flexible schedules, including weekendsSubject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable; DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugsPhysical Requirements
The essential functions require the ability to :
Work outside in varying temperatures and conditions (100% of the job outdoors)Sit for extended periods; stand and walk long distances on uneven surfacesPush / pull up to 50 pounds; lift up to 50 pounds; kneel, bend, or crouch as neededWork in high-traffic areas with exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noiseReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
