Assistant Professor of Practice, The Writing Program

Salary Range : $40,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Type : Full Time, fixed-term track

Job Details

Job Summary : Assistant Professor of Practice may teach up to four composition courses per semester at the undergraduate level required qualifications.

Required Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree or higher in English, Rhetoric and Composition, Linguistics, Literature or other related field of study.
  • Teaching experience and qualifications comparable to those of faculty members in the fixed-term track or tenure track positions.
  • This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Doctoral degree
  • Two years or more of teaching experience at an institution of higher education, preferably a university, and demonstrated high levels of teaching performance as indicated by a formal review.
  • This position will work primarily on campus . Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility.

    This is a non-tenure track, benefits eligible position(s) for Spring 2026 and will be filled based on department need and the number of classes to be taught. Review of applications will be ongoing.

    This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
