JOB OVERVIEW Job Title : Physician Emergency Medicine Job Type : Locum Tenens Location : Thomaston, GA Service Setting : Hospital Coverage Type : Clinical Only Coverage Period : 09 / 01 / 2025 Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule : 6a6p, 6p6a (MD); 9a9p, 12 : 30p12 : 30a (NP / PA) COVERAGE DATES September 1, 2025 Ongoing Minimum 7 shifts per month 5-shift minimum / month required for nocturnists 34 providers needed PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics : All ages Patient Volume / Census : Approx. 82 patients / day Admissions : Approx. 11.7% admission rate Case Mix : General Emergency Medicine; 15% EMS volume FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department : 20 Main ED beds 2 PIT beds EMR System : Meditech Support Staff Available : NPs, PAs, RNs, scribes Reason for Coverage : Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required : Yes Credentialing Timeline : 6090 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Rate : Daily with OT after 12 hours; Weekly OT after 168 hours Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance : Covered Paid Orientation / EMR Training : Required JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses : Active Georgia state medical license required Board : Board Certified in EM, FM, or IM (ABEM, AOBEM, ABFM, ABIM) DEA : Active DEA Certification Certifications : ACLS required (ATLS, PALS, BLS preferred) Experience : Emergency Department experience required; residency completion required Other Qualifications : Comfort working both day and night shifts; proficiency with Meditech EMR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide emergency care in a hospital ED setting Manage approximately 82 patients / day collaboratively with APPs Perform full scope of emergency procedures Work 12-hour shifts, including days and / or nights Participate in onboarding and EMR training as required
