Job Description

Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) is seeking a talented Project Director to join our Project Management Department in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on challenging design projects for clients in the power industry.

Responsibilities

• Manage mid-large capital power projects, particularly in combined cycle power plants, overseeing multiple engineering disciplines and vendor management from inception through start-up and commissioning.
• Monitor, report, and control project costs and schedules across all phases.
• Lead all project aspects, including managing staff, providing strategic vision, and ensuring project quality and productivity.
• Coordinate with overseas High Value Engineering offices and develop administrative, technical, and corporate procedures to ensure project success.
• Oversee project personnel, support planning, scheduling, and design quality, and ensure scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Build and maintain client relationships, ensuring their requirements are met and contractual obligations fulfilled.
• Implement project management and quality systems, maintain accurate documentation, and prepare monthly progress reports.
• Manage invoicing processes, act as liaison with finance, and oversee management of change processes.
• Develop new business opportunities and participate in business development activities.
• Plan upcoming tasks, identify potential issues, and prioritize staffing and technical resources.
• Recruit, train, and develop staff to meet project needs and track employee skill development.
