Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Job Requirements
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Experience : Generally, a minimum of 13 years of experience in Underwriting or a related field. Continuing progress toward and / or the completion of a professional designation preferred, such as Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Program in General Insurance (INS) or Associate of Risk Management (ARM), or a marketing designation. Familiarity with marketing strategies and tools is beneficial.
Scope of Job / Qualifications : Performs work under minimal supervision. Works at the highest authority limits on the most complex assignments. Maintains expert knowledge of company policies and industry laws and regulations. Demonstrates expert analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Advanced negotiation and decision-making ability. Recognized as the company expert in the field. May serve as the highest point of escalation for decisions regarding risk and coverage. Position requires occasional travel.
