We're currently seeking a highly motivated Cost Estimator V located in Los Angeles, CA. Required Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Required Certifications / Licenses : Certifications required may include PMP, PE, and / or any other relevant Professional Licensure or certification. Required to have certified estimating professional credentials Required Qualifications : In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities. Previous experience with public airport projects or large-Scale Projects Proficient with large-scale estimating software 20 years or more of general estimating experience directly related to both engineering and construction projects. Has demonstratable specialized experience / area of expertise. Previous experience managing a small estimating department is desirable Experience as a conceptual estimator is desirable Electrical or Mechanical Estimating ability is desirable Demonstrated proficiency in estimating formats, including Uniformat II Proficient with industry estimating databases and other estimating data sources, e.g. RS Means, Richardsons, etc. Proficient with large-scale estimating software Experience with Design- Build and CMAR delivery Microsoft Office Suite Self-starter with proven results-oriented focus Demonstrates a proactive, firm, and respectful approach to estimate reconciliation efforts and change order processing Establish a personable but contractual stance with the contractor Has demonstratable specialized experience / area of expertise. Responsibilities : Develop conceptual and detailed estimates for various scopes of work. Direct and manage other estimators / estimating teams as needed; Train subordinate estimating personnel as needed. Review construction and design cost proposals and change order requests - assist with the determination of merit. Review the labor rates and markups to ensure conformance to the contract specifications. Review quantities and labor productivity to ensure fair and reasonable representation of scope Review the material pricing and validate against R.S. Means for other pricing references. Review contract documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work and equitable cost allowance for scope changes. Establish basis of the owner's acceptance or rejection of proposals and develop records of negotiation reconcile contractor, internal and third-party estimates. Proactively establish a routine reporting cycle that clearly communicates when an estimate changes and why. Accumulate, evaluate and document historical cost data for the development of future estimates. Provide coordination and liaison with project management personnel and other estimating resources throughout the estimate development. Provide accuracy, reliability and completeness in all work products. Salary : $215,000.00 - $226,000.00 annually Bonus Pay : A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management's discretion.
