Seeking an experienced, dependable HVAC Service Technician to support residential and light commercial clients in the Farmingdale, NY area. This role focuses on installation, preventative maintenance, and diagnostics / repair while delivering clear communication and excellent customer service. Hiring urgently.
What You’ll Do
- Installation & Preventative Care
Set up, service, and repair heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment for homes and businesses.
Conduct routine tune-ups, inspections, cleaning, and component swaps to extend system life.Assess system condition and present options for repair vs. replacement.Diagnostics & RepairsTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and airflow issues using meters, gauges, and OEM documentation.
Perform code-compliant repairs with emphasis on safety, reliability, and efficiency.Verify operation, document findings, and communicate next steps.Client CommunicationTranslate technical issues into clear, understandable recommendations.
Provide usage tips and maintenance best practices to reduce future failures.Maintain a professional, courteous presence on every visit.Documentation & InventoryComplete service tickets with parts used, labor, and work performed.
Submit work orders and parts requests promptly.Track truck stock and specialty tools to ensure readiness.Safety & ComplianceFollow all safety procedures, including proper recovery and handling of refrigerants.
Adhere to local codes, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards.Keep current with evolving regulations and best practices.Qualifications
Prior field experience as an HVAC Service Technician (residential and / or commercial).Strong troubleshooting capability across common HVAC components (compressors, motors, controls, TXVs, sensors, etc.).Comfortable working independently, managing a daily schedule, and prioritizing calls.Proficient with gauges, multimeters, recovery machines, vacuum pumps, and related tools.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Clear, customer-friendly communication skills.Required :Valid HVAC certification and / or applicable state / local license
EPA Section 608 certification for refrigerant handlingEducation : High school diploma or equivalent; technical coursework or trade school preferred.Clean driving record and reliable transportation.Benefits & Perks
