Levindale is accredited by the Joint Commission and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.\n\nUNIT SUMMARY : \n\nBrain Health Unit (BHU) : The Brain Health Unit is part of the specialty hospital at Levindale, it is comprised of two units, and has a total bed capacity of 60. The BHU units are designed to provide a safe environment for older patients with neurocognitive disorders and medical co-morbidities. The nurse will partner with a multidisciplinary team to engage, support, and treat the patient. The length of stay is between 20-25 days, which allows the team the opportunity to assess, implement medication management and a plan of care that is sustainable and that will maximize quality of life. The nurse patient ratio is 1 : 8-10 for nurses and 1 : 10 for geriatric nursing assistants. Conducts and documents an initial and ongoing assessment and gathers data relevant to the patient's / family individual needs. Develops and documents a plan of care for selected patients / families. Implements, documents and provides care and education based on plan of care. Evaluates and documents the outcomes of nursing practice.\n\nREQUIREMENTS : \n
• Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field\n
• A minimum of 1 year experience as licensed RN\n
• American Heart Association BLS CPR Card\n
• Maryland Registered Nurse License\n
• Microsoft Office Suite, Basic computer skills, Cerner, Synquest Standard, Office Equipment, Medical terminology\n
