Full-time Foreman (Commercial Roofing)Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Full-time Foreman to join our commercial roofing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of commercial roofing systems, particularly TPO and EPDM, and possess strong leadership and project management skills. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful completion of commercial roofing projects, maintaining high-quality standards, and leading a team of skilled roofers.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial roofing
  • Proficiency in TPO and EPDM roofing systems
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications are a plus)

ResponsibilitiesProject Management

  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of commercial roofing projects from start to finish
  • Develop and implement project schedules, ensuring timely completion of work
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other contractors to ensure smooth project execution
  • Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to meet deadlines and quality standards
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and building codes
  • Prepare and submit daily progress reports, including labor hours, material usage, and any issues encountered

    • Team Leadership

  • Lead and supervise a team of roofers, assigning tasks and responsibilities based on individual skills and project requirements
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members to improve their skills and efficiency
  • Ensure proper staffing levels for each project and coordinate with HR for hiring and onboarding new team members as needed
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce safe work practices
  • Address and resolve any conflicts or issues within the team to maintain a positive work environment

    • Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of commercial roofing systems, particularly TPO and EPDM
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest roofing technologies, materials, and installation techniques
  • Provide technical guidance and solutions for complex roofing challenges
  • Ensure proper installation techniques are followed for all roofing systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve roofing issues as they arise during projects
  • Conduct quality control inspections throughout the project to maintain high standards of workmanship

    • Safety Management

  • Enforce strict adherence to OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of job sites, equipment, and tools
  • Identify potential hazards and implement appropriate safety measures
  • Ensure all team members are properly trained in safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain accurate safety records and report any issues
