About The Position

Job Title : Cardiac Sonographer (Registered)

Profession : Echo Tech

Specialty : Radiology

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day

Hours per Shift : 10.5 hours

Experience : Minimum of 1 year preferred

License : State Echo Sonographer License

Certifications : A.R.D.M.S. / CCI registered or registry eligible, BLS certification from American Heart Association

Must-Have :

• Ability to communicate effectively
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with others from various disciplines
• Ability to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditions
• Manual dexterity to perform echocardiograms

Description :

Performs diagnostic echocardiograms on adults and pediatric patients.

Education : High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of a two-year allied health education program that is patient care related is preferred.

Allied health occupations include diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or nursing.

Responsible to the Director of Cardiovascular Services.

May be exposed to physical injury, infectious diseases, and airborne and bloodborne pathogens.

Requires knowledge of safety standards to limit exposure to infectious diseases.

Physical requirements include lifting patients and pushing heavy equipment, beds, and carts.
