Job Summary :

Responsible for assisting patients through the course of eye examination and treatment; prepare patients for examinations, tests or treatments and explain procedures
Perform all areas of history taking, diagnostic testing and pre-testing in preparation for physician exam and consultation
Assist in minor surgical procedures
Provide patient education
Maintain exam room and diagnostic instrument supplies
Additional duties as assigned

Requirements :

Completion of Ophthalmic Technician training or prior on-the-job training

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Attention to detail and critical thinking skills

Ability to communicate empathetically in a professional, courteous and efficient manner

Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks in order to complete and maintain workflow

Ability to work effectively as a team member who is flexible, cooperative and willing to assist others

Interest in continuing education and professional growth

Commitment to accountability and dependability
