Job Description

The Maintenance Lead I is responsible for supervising maintenance technicians, supporting technician troubleshoot of problems / breakdowns, and driving escalation of response as necessary.

Wages starting at $25 - $34 / hour

(3rd shift Premium - $2.40)

$5,000 Maintenance New Hire Bonus

Job description :

  • Supervise / assist area technician on breakdowns or other issues.
  • Management of work orders, repairs, rebuilds or other tasks for technicians or Maintenance support.
  • Respond to safety issues or emergencies in the plant.
  • Manage timesheets / Time off / Attendance management in Kronos for direct deposits.
  • Supervisor duties
  • Communication with production management on maintenance related issues or other items.
  • Support technician troubleshooting of problems / breakdowns on production equipment making proper repairs as necessary. Drive escalation of response as necessary.

There repairs and troubleshooting include but are not limited to :

  • Electrical
  • PLC / Controls System
  • Mechanical
  • Hydraulic
  • Pneumatic
  • Plumbing / building
  • Communicating with production operators, supervisors about machine problems and taking the necessary actions to address them.
  • Understanding of computers, navigation, Word / Text / XL Document editing. File handling.
  • Will learn MP2 (Maintenance management system) navigation. inventory / work orders / on-site requests / etc.
  • Must communicate with other team members via written pass downs at the end of each shift.
  • Support-follow all of VT's safety policies and practices including LOTO and Restricted Space Troubleshooting procedures.
  • Become arc flash certified through VT's LMS and TPC training programs.
  • Must have the ability to complete self-study course work necessary to reach the top of the specialist level.
  • Participate in daily team meetings.
  • Must be proficient in the use of shop equipment and hand tools.
  • Must be proficient in the use of electrical testing equipment and able to troubleshoot, diagnose electrical and PLC issues to get them resolved in a timely manner.
  • Will need to stay late or come in early if a project, work order, or breakdown makes it necessary.
  • Will need to be able to assist in other areas if help is needed.
