Position Overview

The Senior Chief Engineer provides regional technical leadership and operational management of engineering teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of building systems and critical environments across multiple properties while delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Leadership

  • Provide technical support and leadership to properties across assigned region
  • Supervise, hire, train, and develop engineering and maintenance staff
  • Manage daily operational issues and serve as first point of contact
  • Participate in engineering operations advisory committee

Safety & Compliance

  • Identify and remediate safety hazards; implement safety training programs
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (Federal, State, Local) and alert management to discrepancies
  • Maintain compliance documentation and current building drawings
  • Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain regional databases for personnel, KPIs, audit compliance, and energy management
  • Support JCAP process management and develop SOPs / MOPs
  • Complete additional duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required; trade school / union apprenticeship preferred
  • 10+ years related work experience with supervisory experience
  • Critical environments / data center experience preferred
  • Required Skills & Certifications

  • Universal CFC certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Central plant operations knowledge
  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, work at heights, and use proper PPE
  • Capable of extended periods sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and crawling
  • Preferred

  • 1st Class or Chief Engineers Operating License
  • 10+ years managing direct reports
  • Estimated compensation for this position : 111,654.00 124,000.00 USD per year
