About the Role
Instructional Assistant
As an Instructional Assistant working under the direction of the Intervention Specialist, you will provide support to students with diverse learning needs to enhance their intervention and social-emotional development. You will assist in implementing intervention strategies and goals designed by the Intervention Specialist, collaborating with therapists and other staff to support student success. Your primary goal will be to help ensure students have access to high-quality intervention services by providing individualized assistance and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Minimum Qualifications
The ability to obtain an Instructional Assistant permit through the ODE, to include :
The ability to obtain a clean background check in compliance with ODE standards.
An Associate degree or higher or at least two years of study (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours) from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder
General knowledge of IEPs
Experience lesson planning with the ability to service students goals
Accurate and timely documentation and submission
Ability to work under direct supervision of an Intervention Specialist
Responsibilities :
Run small group and / or one-on-one instruction
Maintain records for IEP reporting
Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to provide targeted interventions and accommodations
Communicate regularly with intervention specialists and guardians to provide updates on student progress
Skills :
In this role, you will utilize your ability to support students with diverse learning needs under the direction of the Intervention Specialist. You will need strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records for IEP reporting and ensure timely documentation. Additionally, you will require effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with teachers, therapists, and guardians, providing updates on student progress. Your ability to assist in implementing intervention strategies, including running small group or one-on-one instruction, and fostering an inclusive learning environment will be essential to supporting student success and access to high-quality intervention services.
