POSITION SUMMARY

The Materials Supervisor oversees the warehouse to ensure the department maintains a steady a schedule. They will train employees on how to complete shipping and receiving processes and helps familiarize them with the department. The Materials Supervisor will oversee the rotating, storing, labeling, and accounting of the warehouse inventory. Also, they will ensure that foreign imports and exports are up to code with government guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  • Oversees shipping and receiving to ensure the department maintains a steady a schedule.
  • Trains employees on how to complete shipping and receiving processes and helps familiarize them with the department.
  • Oversees the rotating, storing, labeling, and accounting of the warehouse inventory.
  • Ensures that foreign imports and exports are up to code with government guidelines.
  • Helps accommodate the needs of all departments by facilitating the distribution of warehouse parts.
  • Inspects and checks freight claims and other paperwork for deficiencies and other issues.
  • Follows up on and answer any questions, inquiries, and concerns by all company employees concerning warehouse parts.
  • Sustain the Quality management System with required departmental standards.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.

Tools to be utilized :

Hand tools, power tools, Sawzall, drill, hammer, prybar, bander- metal / cloth, and ratchet straps.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s) : The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and / or Experience :

  • High school diploma / GED.
  • 5+ years of experience within a warehouse team required.
  • 5+ years of hands-on fire truck product knowledge from either a manufacturing or fire department perspective preferred.
  • 3+ years of previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Able to obtain forklift certification required.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude required.
  • Skills : Language :

  • Able to read blueprints and work from spec books.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Math :

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Computer :

  • Able to perform simple tasks, such as creating an email and using basic commands. Use of Microsoft office suite (excel, word, etc.), and adobe for viewing prints.
  • Abilities :

  • Able to work professionally with all levels of the Rosenbauer organization, customers, and vendors.
  • Able to lead and supervisor a team effectively.
  • Able to maintain detailed and accurate records.
  • Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
  • Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information / changes related to the build process and / or troubleshoot.
  • Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
  • OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

    Driving- license

    May be required to operate company vehicles to move parts needed from building to building for production purposes.

    Driving- Own Vehicle

    May be required to visit other Rosenbauer sites, tradeshows, or for special projects.

    Hours of work- Ability to work evenings and / or weekends occasionally

    Overtime as needed to meet the needs of the department.

    Travel- Local

    May be required to attend local meetings offsite.

    Travel- Overnight

    May be required to visit other Rosenbauer sites, tradeshows, or for special projects.

    Travel- Prolonged Periods

    May be required to visit other Rosenbauer sites, tradeshows, or for special projects.

    Qualifications- Other

    Must be able to obtain a forklift certification.
