The Company is seeking a 2nd shift motivated collaborative Composites M&P (Materials and Processes) Engineer to join our Composite Materials Fabrication Site in Mesa, Arizona. What you'll do
Apply chemistry, physics, and material science to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methodsProvide technical evaluation and material and process support to composite part fabricationPerform root-cause investigations and implement corrective & preventive actions for material and process issuesCreate and execute test plans, write reports and input to specifications for materials, tools, and processesQualify and approve equipment, materials and processesGuide material testing in the Materials & Processes LaboratoryCoordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and ProcurementTravel to suppliers as neededIntegrate new technologies and promote standardization across product linesManage test / audit programs, ensure regulatory and contractual compliance, and incorporate EHS, LEAN, and Quality principles into your workThis role is full-time 2nd shift and is expected to be 100% onsiteThis position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and / or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.
Requirements
Required Skills :
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. (And a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years' experience or a Master's degree (Level 2) or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years' experience or Master's and 3+ years (Level 3)Willingness to work 2nd shift.Preferred Skills :
1+ years working with composites, elastomers, and associated processing techniques (Level 2 or 3 applies based on years of experience)Hands-on lab experience with polymer chemistry analytical techniquesFamiliarity with materials such as epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesivesExperience with composite failure modes (structural and nonstructural) and failure analysisExperience in technical specifications, reports, and test plansReading engineering drawings and using Microsoft OfficeExperience in creating and delivering technical presentations and briefingsAbility to work in a collaborative team-based environmentAdditional note : Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
