Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, develop and implement control systems for systems in the Nutrition and Health sector of industry. Our ideal candidate is proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and understands control theory and process system dynamics. The goal is to create and implement high-quality, efficient and fully operational control systems that comply with industry standards, regulations and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop control systems based on SPX FLOW standards and project requirements, including automation architecture drawings, hardware specifications, I / O lists, detailed electrical design, network design and configuration, safety circuit design and configuration, pneumatic design, skid and field wiring diagrams, and specifications of manufactured elements such as PLC panels, I / O panels, motor control panels and MCCs.
- Perform power load calculations to support electrical design and specifications.
- Conduct system integration, testing and debugging to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Coordinate with customers and other suppliers; perform panel shop testing and factory and site acceptance testing.
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to meet system performance and project goals (Proposal team, Project management, Process engineering, Automation engineering, Installation and Commissioning).
- Prepare system and component-level specifications, control panel BOMs, panel instrumentation specifications and panel shop RFQs.
- Participate in the development of system documentation and control manuals; prepare item lists, instrument lists and motor lists; create as-built electrical and pneumatic drawings and installation / testing documentation.
- Provide technical support for system installation, maintenance and troubleshooting; develop operator manuals.
- Assist in bidding and planning activities, review installation bids, and plan electrical installation activities such as panel unloading and positioning.
- Electrical site supervision and troubleshooting of electrical problems; ensure compliance with SPX FLOW procedures and industry standards; ensure tasks are completed on schedule, within quality and budget.
- Stay updated with the latest controls engineering techniques and technologies and act safely, especially at customer or supplier sites.
Qualifications
BS or BT degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering or a related fieldProven work experience as an Electrical Controls Engineer or similar roleExperience with AutoCAD Electrical softwareFluent in English – spoken and writtenAbility to travel globally up to approximately 30% of the timeDesirable : Good communication skills; ability to multi-task in a matrix environment; strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail; initiative and ability to work independently; ability to uphold high standards of performance within a team while maintaining ethics and integrity; familiarity with PLCs, HMI, SCADA and other control systemsWorking conditions
