Janitorial Manager

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Janitorial Manager will plan, direct, and execute the total housekeeping functions at Unum Columbia.

Job Description Summary

The Janitorial Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and executing the total housekeeping function at Unum Columbia, including managing hiring activities, payroll, HSSE programs, and Quality Assurance programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and executes the total housekeeping function at Unum Columbia.
• Manages hiring activities, including Workday job requisitions, interviewing candidates, and conducting New Employee Orientation.
• Conducts training of new employees in proper custodial procedures and demonstrates new cleaning methods.
• Monitors performance of direct reports and proactively addresses policy violations and poor work performance.
• Reports all incidents and injuries immediately to the Account Manager.
• Maintains an inventory of cleaning supplies and materials and places orders when necessary.
• Notifies the Maintenance Supervisor of needed building repairs.
• Exercises initiative in planning and directing custodial operations to ensure adequate coverage.
• Operates various powered equipment in the performance of duties.
• Responds to and resolves emergency calls and routine calls for service.

Education And / or Experience

Two years of experience and a high school diploma or GED.

Working Conditions

Office environment; travel from site to site on Unum Columbia campus; exposure to noise, dust, and fumes.

Physical Conditions

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; moderate or light lifting and carrying; bending, stooping, kneeling, and near visual acuity.

The compensation for this position is $50,150.00 - $59,000.00.
