Education and Experience
High school diploma / GED.Five (5) years of experience in safe and efficient operation of gas- and diesel-powered light and heavy equipment, demonstrating proficiency in installation, maintenance and replacement tasks related to division and including leading workers.Licenses or Certifications
If assigned to Public Works : Must possess a valid state driver's license equivalent to Florida CDL A and out-of-state licensees must obtain a valid Florida CDL A driver's license within ninety (90) days of hire or promotion.If assigned to Public Works (Maintenance or Traffic Ops) : FDOT MOT / TTC Certification required within ninety (90) days of hire or promotion.Public Works Maintenance : FSA Stormwater Operator Level 2 within six (6) months of hire or promotion.Key Responsibilities
Oversees and coordinates various construction, maintenance and repair projects for the city.Employees in this class lead work crews generally comprised of Senior Equipment Operators, Equipment Operators, Field Technicians, Traffic Technicians, Laborers, Groundskeepers, Irrigation Specialists and / or outside contractors.Primary responsibility is to coordinate and lead the preparation, performance and completion of assigned work projects.Position leads and trains crew personnel in the safe operation and maintenance of both light and heavy project equipment and inspects all work during and upon completion.Participates in all levels of crew assignments.Work is performed with minimal inspection while in progress and is generally evaluated upon completion for results obtained.Please review the full job description by clicking on the link below.
