PRN Medical Physicist Needed in West Palm Beach, FL

Lantern Government Solutions is seeking board certified medical physicists to join our pool providing coverage for the VA medical center in West Palm Beach, FL. The total expected hours are anticipated to be around 200 per year. This is a great opportunity to lend a hand assisting VA in delivering care to veterans in the absence of VA's full time staff, ensuring veterans can receive the care they need. This is an excellent opportunity for military spouses, dependents, veterans, or anyone interested in supporting the military healthcare system in a civilian capacity.

About the Role : Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site back-up coverage in the absence of VA staff physicist (up to 208 hours annually)
• Perform post-treatment QA testing, calibration, and special measurements
• Oversee physics and dosimetry operations, ensuring adherence to ACR, ASTRO, and AAPM standards
• Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists on complex simulations and treatment setups
• Report adverse events to the National Health Physics Program (NHPP) and implement follow-up recommendations
• Maintain compliance with VA directives, NRC regulations, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
