As a Security Officer - Retail Market in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned retail locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming environment for all visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to support a sense of comfort, and provide outstanding customer service while communicating clearly with staff and guests. Pay Rate : $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule : DayTime

Monday 03 : 00 PM - 09 : 30 PM

Tuesday 03 : 00 PM - 09 : 30 PM

Wednesday 03 : 00 PM - 09 : 30 PM

Thursday 03 : 00 PM - 09 : 30 PM

Sunday 03 : 00 PM - 09 : 30 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and observe for any irregularities.
  • Communicate professionally with visitors, employees, and / or management as needed.
  • Document and report incidents, observations, and / or hazards according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Support access control procedures and monitor entry and exit points as required by site policies.
  • Assist with crowd management and help to deter theft or other unwanted behaviors within the retail environment.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Possession of a state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • A valid guard card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and / or badge systems is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
