General Job Summary

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY :

The Systems Administrator (SA) will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation Kratos computer systems. The Systems Admin. will handle the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and some networking components to maintain optimal performance and security. The role involves monitoring system activity, implementing upgrades, vulnerability management, and providing technical support to users. Collaboration with other IT staff and departments is essential to address technical issues and implement IT strategies aligned with business objectives.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain servers for local office

Perform in-place upgrades

  • Apply software patches and updates
  • Manage support tickets and support IT projects for local office
  • Create / disable user accounts

  • Create / modify / delete security groups
  • Add / remove users to / from security groups
  • Create / modify system folder structure
  • Facilitate vendor support sessions to resolve issues
  • Perform hardware / software installations and upgrades
  • Mitigate vulnerabilities from weekly report
  • Ensure backup operations complete successfully
  • Document processes for creation of departmental SOPs
  • Report violations of corporate policies
  • Support IT Director with network & system configurations, functionality, and security
  • Get training (as needed) to support essential job functions
  • Evaluate vendor products as necessary and make purchase recommendations
  • Monitor system performance
  • Notify IT Director of planned configuration changes to systems
  • Maintain and track all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) database, ensuring the proper custody is logged and maintain
  • Properly dispose of obsolete and unusable GFE
  • Conduct semi-annual GFE inventories and as required by the customer
  • Supervisory Responsibility

    This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

    Education and Experience

  • US Citizenship
  • Secret security clearance desired, TS preferred
  • Minimum of Five (5) or more years of experience with systems administration
  • Knowledgeable about DoD and DoN Information Assurance rules and regulations
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Exceptional time management and flexibility
  • Organized self-starter with minimal oversight
  • Capability to work closely with multiple teams to accomplish tasks
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Dedicated to producing excellent solutions consistently
  • Linux administration experience preferred
  • Work Environment / Physical Requirements

    In performing the work for this position, the employee must be able to :

  • Perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time
  • Sit for extended periods of time without leaving the work area
  • Climb ladders and stairs in performing the work
  • Walk for reasonable distances while performing the work
