Job Description
We’re hiring a Senior AV Design Engineer to join a leading National Audiovisual Integrator. In this role, you’ll design advanced AV systems, develop drawings and documentation, specify equipment, and collaborate with clients and project teams to deliver tailored solutions. You’ll also support installation, oversee commissioning, and ensure systems perform to the highest standards.
Responsibilities :
- Design and engineer integrated AV systems, including videoconferencing, control systems, displays, audio distribution, and network-based AV solutions.
- Develop system drawings, schematics, and technical documentation using CAD and related design tools.
- Provide technical support during pre-sales or post-sales, including system design consultation and scope development.
- Research emerging AV technologies and recommend solutions to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Conduct discovery meetings and needs analysis with clients.
- Specify and design AV solutions from concept to completion.
- Attend bid meetings, walk through, and site surveys.
- Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
- Draft signal flow diagrams and detailed AV system layouts.
- Provide construction administration support and site visits.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and company standards.
- Mentor and train junior team members.
Requirements
Experience & Skills :
Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial AV design, preferably with a systems integrator.Must have strong hands-on experience with Q-SYS Controls and QSC audio DSP, along with Crestron, Extron, and other industry-leading AV products.Professional Certification – AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, or DMC-D.Strong knowledge of designing AV systems for meeting rooms, boardrooms, training rooms, town halls, digital signage, and unified collaboration systems.Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to read construction drawings.Familiarity with web-based conferencing platforms (MS Teams, Zoom, WebEx, Skype for Business).Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.Requirements
Job Requirements : Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with QCS controls, Biamp, Audio DSP, Shure and Intelix. Great to have : AVPro Edge and Visionary Solutions for VoIP / switchers Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with AV equipment Advanced knowledge of TCP / IP networking, switches, routers, firewalls are preferred. Advanced working knowledge of computers (Windows-based) and software. Maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and embrace a team-centric environment. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents including product specifications, wiring diagrams, and architectural drawings. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive customer inquiries or complaints. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Valid driver’s license with minimum 3-year clean driving record. Infocomm CTS certification (within 6 months of employment start) & CTS-I within 12 months Maintain and / or acquire OSHA 10 Hr construction within 3 months from employment start.
