Overview
KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate, Logging & Data Engineer to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines for structured and unstructured data
- Ingest and parse large volumes of data from diverse sources including RESTful APIs, ETL tools, databases, Kafka, Windows event logs, and network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls
- Develop and maintain custom code to support end-to-end data flow and transformation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and ensure data quality and integrity
- Manage and optimize log management platforms
- Apply scripting and programming skills (Python, PowerShell, Go, JavaScript) to automate data workflows and support analytics use cases; troubleshoot data issues and provide technical support to internal stakeholders
Qualifications
Minimum three years of recent experience in data engineering and large-scale data processing with the ability to manage TB / PB-scale datasets; familiarity with a wide range of data ingestion and parsing technologies is preferredBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferredProficiency in Python, PowerShell, Go, and JavaScript; working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases; understanding of cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS and GCP with a platform / tool agnostic mindset and flexibility to adapt to new technologies such as Splunk & Crible; experience working across multiple cloud environments is preferredExperience with event and log management systems; proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systemsExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to write efficient, maintainable, and scalable code for data ingestion and transformation; strong analytical thinking and ability to communicate technical concepts clearlyApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future; KPMG LLP will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunityAdditional Information
