BUYER : ROLE SUMMARY :

This Buyer role is pivotal in managing and coordinating all aspects of the supply chain to support operational and strategic goals. The role involves planning and scheduling material procurement aligned with the forecast plan to ensure a continuous production schedule.

KEYS :

  • Minimum 5 years purchasing experience, Med device preferred,
  • Experience in a regulated Manufacturing Industry is a Must
  • ERP / MRP planning required - plan & schedule material procurement to forecast.
  • Should have an understanding of machining as well as an understanding of quality corrective actions and supplier management.
  • The Buyer would need to have experience managing sole source / single source suppliers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Supply Chain Management : Direct and coordinate supply chain operations to meet organizational objectives, ensuring the procurement of high-quality components and finished goods while securing excellent suppliers at competitive prices and terms.
  • Supplier Relations : Manage supplier selection and supply chain development, including pricing, forecasting, and procurement planning.
  • Inventory and Quality Control : Address issues related to delivery shortages, pricing discrepancies, and inventory quality. Act on material review board dispositions and engineering change orders.
  • Communication and Coordination : Serve as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring all parties are informed of order statuses, delivery dates, and planning needs.
  • Inventory Disposition : Manage surplus inventory for assigned commodities, ensuring effective disposition and minimal waste.
  • Operational Problem-Solving : Proactively identify and communicate potential delays in order delivery, devising solutions to minimize production impact.
  • Inventory Management : Collaborate with management to maintain optimal inventory levels that support manufacturing demands and achieve targeted inventory turnover rates.
  • Procurement Compliance : Ensure all purchasing activities comply with the organizational Quality Management System (QMS) and Approved Supplier List (ASL).
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Education : BS / BA degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Experience : Minimum of 5 years in purchasing, preferably within a regulated industry such as medical devices.
  • Certifications : APICS certification is advantageous.
  • Skills : Proficient in ERP / MRP systems, with strong troubleshooting capabilities. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills are essential. Must be organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Technology Proficiency : Must possess strong computer skills.
