Job Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

The Senior Technical Program Manager for Kuiper will help define and develop the interfaces, manage requirements, and organize technical efforts. This role includes direct responsibility for program and project management of system level development. This is a highly technical role requiring experience with integrated hardware and software development as well as some appreciation for complex applications. You will have significant influence over the design and the test approach we take to develop and test the system.

Key job responsibilities

This position requires a program management background and direct experience developing relevant systems. You will create and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but will also roll up your sleeves and contribute directly. A Senior TPM anticipates bottlenecks, uses great judgment to make trade-offs, and balances the business needs with technical constraints. Your ability to understand the big picture of the project design and anticipate and plan dependencies is crucial. Your ability to take large, complex projects, break them into manageable pieces, and deliver timely results is invaluable. You will work with a team of experts and drive the team to successfully accomplish the following activities :

• \tDevelop and manage technical requirements for build, verification, validation of complex test systems.
• \tDecompose technical requirements for test into software and hardware requirements aligned with development, manufacturing and verification test strategy
• \tIdentify and manage trade studies and analyses necessary to define antenna hardware and software requirements.
• \tDrive the integration of software and hardware for antenna systems.
• \tDrive the development of antenna test processes.
• \tCoordinate and manage a large number of dependencies across many engineering disciplines to ensure timely delivery of hardware and software to meet the program schedules.
• \tDevelop program and team processes and tools, as required.

You must be fully competent in a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project life-cycle and exhibit demonstrated proficiency in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development / tracking.

Export Control Requirement :

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
