Parkwood Behavioral Health System provides behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region and has been in business since 1987. We are located in Desoto County, in the northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis.

We offer a full continuum of care that provides treatment options to meet the individual needs of adults, adolescents and children. Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148-bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.

Registered Nurse

• Status : PRN
• Remote

The MOT Registered Nurse is primarily responsible for managing the MOT prcoess. The MOT Intake RN may also coordinate assessments of incoming patients with Intake Couselors, coordiante MD's assessments, and initatiate the admissions process. The MOT Intake RN may provide technical assistance to the dishcharge planning process.

Hours are based on departmental and facility needs; and may include day, evening, and weekend hours, as directed by the Intake Director and CEO.

Qualifications

Education :

Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing and Associate Degree required; BSN preferred.

Experience :

One (1) year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing required. (1-3) years behavioral health experience preferred.

One(1 ) year of healthcare customer service and behavioral health experience preferred.

Licensure :

Licensure and registration by the Mississippi Board of Nursing as a registered nurse, or multi-state license as approved by NCSBN.

CPR and Handle With Care required

Knowledge :

Must possess knowledge of appropriate nursing assesment, diagnosis, treatment planning intervention and evaluation of psychiatric patients. Ability to administer medication / treatments and monitor for effectiveness and side effects. Skills in developing therapeutic relationships with adults, adolescents, and their families. Perparing and maintaining medical record documentation, skills in providing education to patients and families about their health needs. Skilled in oral and written communiation; operation of nursing equpiment. Ability to plan, organize and conduct patient care processess in a timely manner.
